Mitzi Reitnouer '82
Women's Basketball All-American
Hometown: Reading, PA
High School: Oley Valley

In 1982, Mitzi Reitnouer became the first player in West Chester University women’s basketball history to amass over 1000 career points. She finished her four-year career with 1454 points, placing her second on the Golden Rams all-time scoring list through the 1999-2000 season.

Her 1981-82 season was the most productive campaign of any Golden Ram basketball player - men’s or women’s - in school history. She recorded a school record 698 points on the season, converting 253 field goals and 192 free throws - each records. On February 20, 1982, Reitnouer scored 42 points in a 97-77 victory over Towson State, a mark that still stands as the highest single-game point total in WCU women’s basketball history.

At the conclusion of her senior year in 1982, Reitnouer was selected an AIAW All-American for her outstanding season.
