A 1978 graduate of West Chester State College, Lee
Gerdes served as the starting goalkeeper on three consecutive
Golden Ram AIAW National Championship field hockey
teams from 1975-77.
Over her three-year career at West Chester, Gerdes compiled
an astonishing 50-0-7 record in goal and a 0.312 goalsagainst
average. She served as team captain during her senior
year of 1977 and allowed just five goals on the season.
After completing her stellar playing career as a Golden
Ram, Gerdes competed on the United States Field Hockey
Team from 1978-79.
She currently is the head field hockey coach and a teacher
at Conestoga Valley High School in Lancaster County, PA.
