Earle C. "Muddy" Waters
National Champion Men's Soccer Coach
College: Syracuse University

Upon his arrival in 1927, Earle "Muddy" Waters, a graduate of Syracuse University, brought a new dimension to West Chester. He was a key member of the Department of Health and Physical Education, serving as a class advisor; faculty, state, regional and national committee member; and as head coach for men’s soccer, gymnastics and track & field. In all of these assignments, Waters brought recognition and honor to West Chester.

On the soccer field, Waters’ teams produced seven undefeated seasons, two National Championships and a 174-28-12 career record. His track and field teams won numerous conference titles and individual championships.

Waters was the founder and former president of the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association. In 1991, he was inducted into the NSCAA Hall of Fame.
