Dr. Arnold D. Jackson
Track & Field
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
High School: Simon Gratz

Dr. Arnold Jackson retired as the assistant principal of William Penn Senior High School at the conclusion of the 1992-93 academic year, but it was his beginnings as a track & field student-athlete at West Chester from 1954-57 that helped shape his career.

Jackson was a nine-time Pennsylvania State College Champion during his tenure as a Golden Ram. He dominated the 100-yard dash from 1954-57, winning the title every season he competed. From 1955-57, Jackson was a three-time champion in the 220-yard dash. As a junior he set the Pennsylvania State College record with a time of 21.5.

Jackson was also proficient in the 220 low hurdles, winning the State College crown in 1955 and 1957 while taking second place in 1956. In 1955 he set the state mark with his time of 23.0. Jackson finished second in the State College Championship as a rookie in the high jump event in 1954.
