Glenn Robinson ‘67
Men’s Basketball Coaching Legend
Hometown: Aldan, PA
High School: Lansdowne (Penn Wood)

For over 30 years, Glenn Robinson has collected more than 650 career victories while patrolling the sidelines as the head coach of the Franklin & Marshall College men’s basketball team. Through January 5, 2004, Robinson had posted a 655-233 (.738) record, while his all-time mark makes him the winningest active coach in the history of NCAA Division III men’s basketball. He is one of just four Division III coaches ever to surpass 600 victories in a career.

The 1991 Basketball Times Division III “Coach of the Year” and 11-time conference and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) regional “Coach of the Year,” Robinson’s career has been remarkable in the world of college athletics.
In terms of regular-season and NCAA Tournament success, few coaches in the history of Division I, II or III can equal Robinson’s docket: 18 20-win seasons (including 10 from 1987-1996); 18 NCAA Division III Tournament bids (including 11 straight from 1986-1996); four appearances in the Final Four; and a national title game appearance in 1991.

Robinson’s career win total accounts for almost 60% of the total collegiate victories in Franklin & Marshall men’s basketball history (1098) since the inception of the sport in 1899-1900. In Middle Atlantic States Athletic and Centennial Conference play from 1974-2003, the Diplomats have compiled a 307-81 (.791) mark and have 25 conference playoff berths and 13 playoff titles.
